Breaking Dawns (1994-5)

Sun filtering through the window lights up the walls of Anne's bedroom. From it she would have walked down the stairs to another reality. On the left is the high wall, the top of which can be viewed as either the top projections of the camp walls or the beams on the ceiling of her bedroom. The light can be seen either as search light or bedroom light, oppression or normality. On the right side of the painting are camp scenes with vertical struts of the hut interiors seen as skeletal limbs.
